In 2024 I left my job of over 20 years to work on my mental health. During this time, I rediscovered my love of romance books and their ability to take me to another world and connect me with like-minded people. From these conversations, the idea of The Forbidden Spine was born. I wanted to create a safe, judgement free space for people, much like myself, who wanted a safe place to talk about and discover new books.

The Forbidden Spine is more than just a boutique romance bookstore, it's a community, its cozy, it's an inclusive space where stories bring people together to celebrate their love of reading.
